Chapter Five

A New Beginning

The sailor now found himself back in the ship, hanging on a strap where he had been all along. The ship remained in the same place-suspended in mid-air just above the surface of the water. He looked around and realized that most of the passengers were still experiencing the depths of heaven's joy and wonder. However, the water below was a swirling mass of wreckage and sludge, whipped into frenzy by fierce winds. Just like the tree of the prophets, the “ship of refuge” had become a vast conduit of light, power, and glory. Reflections and refractions of otherworldly color and metallic sounds emanated from the streams of light traversing the vessel. The passengers nearest to the lamp now shown with the radiant light of heaven. Many were so filled with glory that they did not even notice the dangerous waters beneath their feet.

The song from the ship had reached levels beyond comprehension. Ancient mysteries hidden from humanity since the beginning of time were now laid open before them. They saw the purpose of man as simply as one examines the petals of a flower, and they fixed their hearts' gaze on the Lord of glory, resolved to find even deeper truths. Everyone on the ship sang these truths with a unified voice. The greatest of these mysteries was love. For each passenger could plunge as deep into the eyes of Christ as he desired, finding there an abiding rest and satisfaction that gave them a comfort beyond comprehension.

The young sailor noticed the angel who had departed from him, returning with his whole company. They gathered around the ship and many other companies of angels joined them.

The young sailor looked at him and they communicated with thought alone: “Why have you come here?”

“The highest and deepest revelations of the Father's nature are to be revealed here and now-in this final hour of earth's history. These are revelations that we will now learn from you, for this generation has drawn nearer to the Lord of glory than any previous generation. These are the ones about whom Enoch wrote: “The most holy ones who were near Him did not leave by night or withdraw from His Presence”.1 This time and place has now become the center of everything the Father is doing.”

Phanuel appeared next to him and added, “The Father is writing His name and the name of the Son on their hearts. He is inscribing them with His very nature so that they will be fully adopted, accepted, and legitimized as children. This includes a longing for a dwelling place where He may remain. For just as mankind longs for the Eternal One to make His dwelling among them, so the Eternal One has been waiting and longing to dwell in the hearts of mankind since the beginning. It is at this most turbulent hour that the children of God will learn to rest in Him and He in them. As they abide more in Him, He will abide more in them until the two have become one.
